The Milky Way by Mike Salway

This fantastic image was taken by our buddy at Mike Salway Photography. Altogether, this is probably one of the best nightscapes I’ve ever seen.

At first glance, the Milky Way seemed out of proportion to me, so I asked Mike about it. To my amazement, the image is 100% genuine and unaltered. Together with a 50mm lens and the angle at which the image was taken, Mike managed to capture the majesty of the Milky Way’s dust lane as seen during this 30-second exposure at the IISAC2013 star party near Sydney, Australia.
